Technical Details of Activated Carbon Filter

Activated carbon filter technical details

What is Compact Activated Carbon Filter?

Activated carbon filters usually use granular activated carbon (such as coconut shell or columnar activated carbon) as filter material. These activated carbons have undergone special chemical treatment and possess high adsorption performance and a large specific surface area (up to 1000~2000 m²/g), which can effectively remove odors, harmful gases, and organic compounds from the air.

The outer frame of the filter is made of materials such as ABS plastic frame, galvanized frame, or stainless steel frame. The surface can be made of waterproof cardboard, black non-woven fabric, aluminum edge strips, etc., to adapt to different usage environments and requirements. Some models also adopt a double-sided powder-coated guardrail support net design to enhance sealing and durability

Sustainable Activated Carbon Air Filter Production Process

At RT AIR FILTERS, we are aware of our corporate responsibility in environmental protection. Therefore, we are committed to practising sustainable development throughout the entire production cycle of our activated carbon filter.

We practice strict recycling of our production waste to ensure that all recyclable filter materials are reprocessed and reused to minimise resource wastage. For example, polyester fibre waste from the cutting process is collected and returned to the production line.

In addition, the ironing machines we use are heated only by electricity, eliminating organic emissions at source and ensuring a clean and pollution-free production process. Special attention is paid to the processing temperature of the fibres, which is precisely controlled so that they do not reach their melting point, thus avoiding the release of harmful gases that may be generated during the manufacturing process of needled nonwovens and ensuring that our eco-friendly filtration products are not harmful to the environment and human health.

Choosing RT AIR FILTERS' environmentally friendly activated carbon air filters means you are choosing to work with a company that is committed to green production and sustainable development.

Does Activated Carbon Filter Remove Bacteria?

The main function of an activated carbon filter is to adsorb gases and some particulate matter. The pore size of activated carbon is usually large (about 0.02 microns), so its filtration effect is limited for smaller viruses (such as the coronavirus with a diameter of about 0.1 microns)

If activated carbon is used in combination with other high-efficiency filtration technologies (such as HEPA filters, ultraviolet disinfection, and ultrafiltration membranes), the efficiency of virus removal can be significantly improved.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q1: Can You Cut Flat Before Rolling Up On The Paint Stop Filters?

A1: Most Of The Paint Stop Filters On The Market Are Cut Flat After Rolling Up Because It Is Very Easy Operate, There Will Be A Problem That The Edge Is Not Flat. Certainly, We Can Cut Flat Before Rolling Up, Which Can Be Up To 2.6m Wide.

Q2: How Did You Pack HEPA Filter?

A2: One Unit Is Packed With PE Bag Put In 5-layer Carton. If The Customer Is Worried About The Transportation Process, We Can According To The Requirements Of The Form Of Beating Bracket + Corner Protection + Wrapping Film Packing.

Q3: Have HEPA Filter Passed The DOP/PAO Leak Test?

A3: Sure, Our HEPA Filter Is 100% Able To Pass The PAO Test. Because We Will Do An Integrity Test Of Each HEPA Filter For Efficiency And Leakage Before Shipment And Provide A Corresponding Test Report. Any Leakage Will Be Regarded As Unqualified Products And Reworked. We Are Using MPPS Scan Test For HEPA Filter Integrity Test Which According To EN 1822 Standard.

The Scanning Tracks Will Cover The Area:

Inside Filter Material, Sealant, Filter Frame, Corners, Gasket, Seal Of The Filter Mounting Assembly, The Sealant Between Filter Frame And The Gasket

Q4: How Long Does It Usually Take For Me To Receive The Goods?

A4: Depends On Whether You Want To Do Customization Your Air Filters Or Not, And Depends On The Speed Of Customs Clearance And Logistics, But We Can Guarantee To Ship Regular Air Filter In Less Than 7-10 Business Days, And We Have Customers In Singapore Who Received The Goods In Less Than 2 Weeks After We Ship Out.

Q5: What Is The Standard And Certification Of Your Products?

A5: We Implement Our Production Process In Strict Accordance With The Standards Of EN779 And EN1822.

Q6: What Is The Main Material You Are Using For HEPA Filter?

A6: We Usually Use Mircofine Glassfiber Paper, But We Also Can Do Synthetic Type Nano Paper Or PTFE Paper Type.
